View source for LucasArts Rebellion website (2004 archive)

The '''LucasArts Rebellion website (2004 archive)''' is the saved copy of the publisher's official product site for ''[[Star Wars: Rebellion]]'', as captured by the Wayback Machine on 8 December 2004 at the address www.lucasarts.com/products/rebellion/. It is a small frame-based site with seven content pages.<ref name="intro" />

== Pages ==
The intro page welcomes visitors to the "Official Star Wars Rebellion site", calls the game LucasArts' first Star Wars grand strategy game and links to five sections: Gameplay Tips, Image Gallery, Product Info, Detailed Overview and FAQ. It also notes that the game was sold in the United Kingdom as ''Star Wars Supremacy''. A separate Links page lists three outside sites that previewed the game (Computer Games Online, GameCenter and GameSpot) under a disclaimer that LucasArts was not responsible for their content.<ref name="intro" /><ref name="links" />

== What the pages say about the game ==
* '''Premise.''' The overview describes a grand strategy game of galactic expansion in which the player picks the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire and fights for a galaxy of up to 200 systems, from 100 to 200 systems, organized as 10 to 20 sectors of 10 systems each. All action takes place in space over systems, not on them. The game is set just after the first Death Star is destroyed.<ref name="overview" />
* '''Two components.''' The strategic side covers manufacturing, resources, fleets, missions and exploration, with events reported by the Agent (C-3PO for the Alliance, IMP-22 for the Empire). The tactical side starts automatically when opposing fleets meet over a system; the overview says a battle can last up to 20 minutes and can be left on automatic.<ref name="overview" />
* '''Victory.''' The Alliance must capture Darth Vader, the Emperor and Coruscant; the Empire must capture Luke Skywalker and Mon Mothma and destroy the mobile Rebel headquarters. See [[Victory conditions]].<ref name="faq" />
* '''Real time.''' "Real-time" is used only to separate the game from turn-based games; the opposing side acts while the player does, and the game can be paused.<ref name="faq" />
* '''Multiplayer and requirements.''' The FAQ and product info state two-player play over a local network, modem-to-modem, direct connect or the Internet through The Zone. The listed minimum is Windows 95, a Pentium 90, 16 MB of RAM and DirectX 5.0, on one CD-ROM.<ref name="faq" /><ref name="info" />
* '''Characters.''' The overview and product info give the number of characters as 55 (28 Alliance and 27 Empire). The image gallery page, however, says 60 heroes and villains and up to 30 capital ships and fighters. The pages therefore disagree with one another.<ref name="overview" /><ref name="info" /><ref name="gallery" />
* '''Developer.''' The overview names Coolhand Interactive of Palo Alto as the development partner.<ref name="overview" />

== Gameplay Tips page ==
The seventh page, "Rebellion - Gameplay Tips", is the longest and is summarized in separate articles: [[Gameplay tips on maintenance and manufacturing]], [[Gameplay tips on loyalty, control and garrisons]], [[Gameplay tips on fleets, assaults and the Death Star]], [[Gameplay tips on characters and mission requirements]], [[Gameplay tips on Force growth and game events]] and [[Gameplay tips on opening moves and research trees]].<ref name="tips" />

== Later captures ==
A capture of 15 October 2007 of the address lucasarts.com/static/rebellion/rebellion.htm shows only a "404 Error - Requested Page Not Found" message, and a capture of the LucasArts home page from 16 February 2013 shows no Rebellion content.<ref name="e404" />
