Zygerria's past is still defined by its once-booming slave trade. The Galactic Empire broke up the operations of the Zygerrian Slave Empire, but slavery continued, though in a diminished form. The Zygerrians, noted for cruelty and cunning, kept maneuvering through a changing galaxy and profited from the unrest. While the Rebel Alliance battled the Empire, Zygerria stayed fairly insulated and set on winning back its old power and influence.
