The Imperial Dreadnought is the name the 25th Anniversary Community Patch gives to the Imperial Dreadnaught, a Empire capital ship in Star Wars: Rebellion.[1] The ship keeps its original game data, so its figures are the same as on the original page.[2]

In the patch

The patch describes it as the Imperial Dreadnought-class Heavy Cruiser and lists its length as 600 meters. The patch names its builder as Rendili StarDrive.[1]

History

The Imperial Dreadnought is a development of the earlier Dreadnought-class cruisers from the Republic era. Around ABY 0, the Imperial Navy took these ships into service, which fit a strategy of altering existing designs to suit Imperial purposes. Toughness and firepower earned the class a reputation as a dependable asset in many combat situations. Lacking the size and power of Star Destroyers, these heavy cruisers usually filled secondary roles, such as patrolling, escorting and occupying territory around the galaxy. After the Death Star was destroyed, the heavy cruisers of this class remained part of Imperial efforts to keep control, demonstrating how flexible the Imperial fleet was.[1]
