Mon Calamari is a star system in the Sluis sector of Star Wars: Rebellion. The planet, also called Calamari, is almost entirely covered by water and is home to two races, the Mon Calamari and the Quarren, who share huge floating cities. The Mon Calamari were already building large organic-looking starships and venturing into space when the Empire found their world. The Empire meant to enslave them, and when the natives resisted, it destroyed three floating cities. Calamarian ships were then refitted as warships, and the orbital shipyards around the planet and its single moon became a vital resource for the Alliance. Admiral Ackbar comes from this world.[1]

In the game

Mon Calamari is a Core system.[1][2] Its sector is used in every galaxy size.[3][4] The 25th Anniversary Community Patch puts a different world, Gamor, in this system's place.[5]
