The Game Options screen of Star Wars: Rebellion is where the player saves and loads games and sets sound and graphics options. Game speed and the System Finder are related controls on the Command Center.[1][2][3]

Game speed

Right-clicking the time display and left-clicking a setting changes how quickly each game day passes. The settings run from Very Slow through Slow and Medium to Fast, and the menu also offers Pause. Pausing brings up an alert box that locks the player out of the game controls until play is resumed.[2] The manual's keyboard list also includes commands for increasing and decreasing speed and for pausing.[4]

System Finder

The System Finder control opens the Planetary System Finder, which locates individual systems. Its tabs filter the list into all systems, Rebel ones, Imperial ones, independent ones and unexplored ones. The player can scroll the list or type the start of a name, and the list scrolls to the match. The Display button, or a double-click on a name, shows the sector containing the selected system.[2][3]

The Game Options screen

The screen is reached from the Load a Saved Game icon in the Shuttle Cockpit, from the Game Controls icon in the Command Center, or from the tactical game.[3] It contains:[3][5][6]

  • Save Game / Load Game: six slots, each pairing a name field with Save Game and Load Game buttons. An icon shows whether the saved game was played as the Empire, the Alliance or head-to-head. Loading without first saving the current game prompts for confirmation.
  • Sound Effects Volume and Music Volume: sliders.
  • Restart the Game: abandons the current game and returns to the Shuttle; an unsaved game prompts for confirmation.
  • Return to the Command Center: goes back to the game in progress, and cannot be used if the screen was opened from the Shuttle Cockpit.
  • Exit the Game: leaves the program after a confirmation.
  • Play Music: toggles music.
  • Tactical display toggles, all on by default and not changeable during a tactical battle: Show Starfield, Show Planet, Show Pyrotechnics, Use High Detail Models and Display Holocube.

The manual adds that a game cannot return to the Shuttle Cockpit once begun, so it suggests recording the Headquarters Only Victory or difficulty choice in the saved game's name.[5] It advises saving before a risky strategy so the game can be reloaded if the plan fails.[5]
