History
Following a large-scale galactic conflict, Fort Anaxes, an old military installation, became important again. The fort had been abandoned after its strategic value declined, but various factions put it back into use, seeking its defensive strengths and its historic significance. In the chaos of the era the fort changed hands repeatedly. The contest for it produced several skirmishes and battles that left visible damage on the once grand building. In spite of this troubled past, the fort remained an emblem of endurance, and restoration and new uses were pursued to meet present needs. Serving as a base for planning operations and for drilling troops, it took back a prominent role among military sites. Its repeated reuse reflected the constantly shifting power balance and the lasting value of this historic place in the continuing search for peace and stability.[1]
