History

Acclamator-class ships served mainly as troopships and dropships that could quickly land ground forces and vehicles, walkers and speeder bikes among them. They first became notable at the Battle of Geonosis, which opened the Clone Wars. They carried heavy armament and doubled as assault ships able to fight in space and on the ground. Once the Clone Wars ended, the Galactic Empire adapted some of these transports and kept them in service in a different role. Their design shaped later Imperial ships, leaving a lasting mark on how warships were built.
