Yavin is a star system in the Sumitra sector of Star Wars: Rebellion. It is a gas giant within an Outer Rim territory that shares its name. A Rebel base was established on its fourth moon during the Battle of Yavin.[1]

In the game

Yavin is a Rim system.[1][2] Its sector is used in every galaxy size.[3][4] The 25th Anniversary Community Patch puts a different world, Yavin 4, in this system's place.[5]

The Alliance holds Yavin from the first turn, with its population fully loyal to the Alliance.[6] Six of the Alliance's core characters, among them Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, begin the game there.[7] The manual cautions that an Imperial counterattack on Yavin is likely, and advises evacuating key characters or strengthening the defenses.[8]
