The Rescue mission is a mission in Star Wars: Rebellion that frees a character held captive by the opposing side.[1]
Targets and participants
The target is a captured character who is on an enemy fleet or in an enemy system; the character cannot be in hyperspace.[2] The manual says remaining characters and Special forces can be sent on it.[3]
Skill and result
Four factors count: the leader's espionage rating, the combat ratings of the team (averaged across its characters and special forces), whether opposing characters are present, and how many enemy trooper regiments are there.[1] Taking over the system where the prisoner is held is another way to free the prisoner, and destroying the ship that holds a captive can leave the character adrift, sometimes recovered and sometimes killed.[3]
Related notes
- When Han Solo is captured by bounty hunters, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Chewbacca automatically try to rescue him.[3]
- Captured key characters may escape through a Rescue mission, which the manual cites as a reason to keep them in a well-defended system or on the move when pursuing the Victory conditions.[4]
- An Incite Uprising mission raises the chance that a captured friendly character escapes.[5]
