Navigation points are positions in space that the player gives to ships as movement waypoints in the Tactical game of Star Wars: Rebellion. They are drawn as colored pyramids on the tactical display.[1]

Navigation point sets

There are four sets of points, each switched on or off by its own Navigation Point Set button on the right-hand control panel. More than one set can be shown at once.[1]

Set Spread
1 Scattered far across the holocube; not all visible unless the view is zoomed out.[1]
2 Scattered broadly, but not as far as Set 1.[1]
3 Closer to the center of the cube.[1]
4 Clustered very close together.[1]

Sending ships to points

Left-click selects and right-click targets. To send a ship or task force somewhere, the player selects it and right-clicks the destination point, which changes color. Right-clicking several points in turn with CTRL held builds a path, which the ship follows in the order chosen. Each point returns to its normal color when the ship passes it.[1] A single CTRL-click on a point removes it from the list. To clear the whole list, right-click a point and then CTRL-click the same point.[1] If CTRL-clicking only selects the point itself, no ship, task force or fighter group has been selected to receive the order.[1]

The points are shown only as an aid; hiding the display does not change the assigned paths.[2]

Targets

Any ship, task force or fighter group may be assigned enemy ships to attack. After selecting the unit, the player right-clicks an enemy ship, and colored boxes mark the current targets. Pressing the SPACEBAR makes the selected unit attack the nearest enemy of its own type, fighter or capital ship.[1] Holding CTRL while selecting adds more targets, and CTRL-clicking a target again cancels it.[2]

A unit can have both a point list and a target list. Ships always finish their navigation point list before attacking their assigned targets, and the targets are taken on in the sequence they were chosen.[2] Approach paths can also be set with Maneuvers and tactics.
