TIE Defender is an Imperial starfighter in Star Wars: Rebellion. According to the in-game encyclopedia, the design breaks with the usual pattern of Imperial fighters. Few fighters in regular production have been given both a shield generator and a hyperdrive, and this is one of them. Automatic laser cannons give it substantial firepower, letting it fight several enemies simultaneously. Its three oddly shaped solar panels contain efficient maneuvering thrusters, bringing its handling close to the Alliance A-wing and the TIE Interceptor. Overall, the entry rates it a dangerous opponent to every Alliance fighter.[1]
In the game
Each TIE Defender squadron costs 5 refined materials to build and 7 to maintain. It has a shield strength of 5 and a hyperdrive.[1] The infobox values come from the game data.[2] The 25th Anniversary patch does not change them.[3]
