KDY-150 is a planetary defense facility in Star Wars: Rebellion, available to both sides. The KDY v-150 is an ion cannon based in a system, and it shoots at ships attacking the system where it is stationed. Like every ion cannon, it causes no physical damage; it instead saps the target vessel's energy, lowering its shields and leaving it unable to use its weapons. This makes it especially valuable for slipping units past an enemy blockade.[1]
In the game
It costs 4 refined materials to build and 4 to maintain.[1] The infobox values come from the game data.[2] The 25th Anniversary Community Patch update does not rewrite this data file.[3]
The manual describes it as an ion cannon that drains energy from an attacking ship, so the ship's shields stop working and it cannot fire.[4] With an ion cannon in place, troops, characters and special forces find it easier to get away when a system is blockaded or bombarded.[5]
