Final Battle
The Final Battle is a confrontation in Star Wars: Rebellion between Luke Skywalker and the Emperor, set in motion by Luke learning of his heritage.[1]
Heritage
An encounter between Luke and Darth Vader leads Luke to a troubling discovery about his and Leia's parentage. If the encounter does not end in his capture, he is left badly injured to represent the blow, and for a long period he is unavailable for missions or for any command post.[2] Leia Organa's Force potential can be discovered only after she learns of the heritage from Luke (see The Force).[1]
Conditions
The manual says that when all of these hold, Vader sets out to seize Luke and deliver him to the Emperor:[1]
- Luke knows his heritage;
- Luke has a high enough Force value;
- Luke is captured;
- both Vader and Emperor Palpatine are uncaptured and neither is traveling or on a mission.
If Vader succeeds, the Final Battle takes place.[1]
Outcome
A loss leaves Luke a prisoner of the Emperor. A win frees him and makes the Emperor and Vader his captives, whom he takes to a friendly system or fleet. The manual states that Luke is much more likely to win if his Force value is high.[1]
