Local freedom fighters under leaders like Cham Syndulla tried to liberate the planet from Imperial hands, setting off many skirmishes and uprisings. The story of Ryloth after Episode 4 is marked by the resilience of its people and their pursuit of self-determination despite continuing difficulties.^[1]
