The Abduction mission is a mission in Star Wars: Rebellion that captures one chosen enemy character.[1]

Targets and participants

The target is an enemy character on an enemy fleet or system. The character cannot be in hyperspace or already captured.[2] The combat ratings of the team's characters and special forces determine how it goes.[1][2]

Victory conditions

The mission is one route to the win. For the Empire the required captives are Mon Mothma and Luke Skywalker; for the Alliance they are Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine.[2] The manual adds that these characters must be held, not just captured.[3]

Other ways to be captured

Characters are also captured when a mission is foiled, when their system is taken over, or when they try to leave a blockaded system.[4][2] A prisoner can be moved if one character or special force acts as jailer.[4] On changing bases, the manual cautions that the Empire is likely to go after Luke and Mon Mothma, so a new base for them should be well defended.[5]
