The Diplomacy mission is a character mission in Star Wars: Rebellion that raises the population's loyalty to the sending side in a planetary system.[1]

Targets and participants

The target must be a friendly system or an explored neutral one, and the system cannot be in a state of uprising.[1][2] Enemy systems are not valid destinations for it.[3] If the target falls under enemy control or goes into uprising while the mission is under way, the mission ends.[4] Characters carry it out; the manual gives Princess Leia as an example of a character suited to diplomatic work.[5]

Skill and result

Chances depend on the characters' diplomacy ratings and on how loyal the population already is.[1][6] A successful mission increases popular support; in a neutral system this may or may not bring the system over to the sending side.[2] A Diplomacy mission raises support much faster than a Subdue Uprising mission.[3] Decoys can accompany the team, and their success at drawing attention depends on their espionage ratings.[7][8]

Continuing the mission

When the character reports back, the manual says a prompt asks whether to keep going. The character keeps trying until the system supports the sending side completely, and if the message goes unanswered for too long the mission continues automatically until it cannot go on, for example when the system is fully loyal.[9]
