The 25th Anniversary Community Patch is a fan-made update for Star Wars: Rebellion that refreshes the game with content from the wider Star Wars universe.[1] It is built on game version 1.02 and includes community fixes.[1]

What it adds

  • A new galaxy map of 200 planets, with a choice of two modes: one that keeps the original planet positions so that saved games and multiplayer stay compatible with the base game, and one with positions changed to be as accurate as possible. Saved games and multiplayer between the two are not compatible.[1]
  • New names for all 20 sectors, and 200 new planets with an encyclopedia entry each (picture, name, position, area, connections, geology, species, economy and history) and individual planet pictures, where the original game reused only 26 pictures for its 200 planets.[1] See Category:Patch sectors and Category:Patch worlds.
  • New pictures for 61 characters, and new encyclopedia entries for all 30 capital ships (picture, faction, full name, size, simple stats, builder and history).[1] See Category:Patch ships.
  • New ship pictures and 3D models for the capital ships, new fighter pictures for 3D battles, pictures for most mission and event entries, and optional pictures that show base stats for troops, special forces, fighters, capital ships and characters.[1]
  • Sixteen higher-quality background music tracks, and updated DirectX libraries for better compatibility with current Windows.[1]

Ship changes

The patch renames fifteen capital ships. For eight of them it also swaps the ship for a better-known design, and for the other seven it only changes the name. Comparing the patch's data with the original game data shows no change in any ship's figures.[1][2]
