Kessel is a world in the Hutt Space sector of the 25th Anniversary Community Patch for Star Wars: Rebellion.[1] In the patch it fills the map slot that holds Cardooine in the original game.[2]
Details
The patch lists its geology as planet, hot, humid, barren spice mines and lush sanctuaries. Its species are listed as Dwuni, Gigoran, Human, Pyke, Twi'lek and Wookie. Its economy is listed as slaves, coaxium, kesselstone, kessoline and spice. It sits at grid reference T-10 and has 2 hyperlanes.[1]
History
Kessel goes through major upheaval. The planet is known for spice, a precious commodity, and its mines drew the interest of several factions. Mining there was notorious for forced labor, making life harsh for the people enslaved on the planet. After the Death Star was destroyed, power in the galaxy shifted, which affected Kessel's operations. Rival groups tried to take over the spice trade, producing competition and conflict. During this time freedom fighters made repeated attempts to release the workers and break the cruel system that had held Kessel in its grip for so long.[1]
